About Our Store
When we designed Al Dente Cooking our goal was to provide a comprehensive cooking destination that would inspire passion for cooking. We tested and endless cookware, bakeware, utensils and gadgets to find just the right mix of tools and equipment that would work best in every type of kitchen environment, from the studio apartment to the commercial kitchen. The result was a wide array of high-value products and brands that encompass the full spectrum of cooking and baking. You will certainly find some of the usual suspects like Le Creuset, Mauviel, and Microplane, but also less-known but incredibly high quality products from all over the world. If we don’t use it in our own kitchen and cooking school, we simply won’t sell it in the store.
In addition to hard goods we also offer an exceptional variety of gourmet foods, with a special emphasis on tasting and sampling the different products available. A large portion of our store is focused on premium olive oils, nut and truffle oils, and balsamic vinegar, all of which are always available for tasting. As with cookware, we don’t offer any food products that we don’t use in our own kitchen, and we went to great lengths to identify and source the very highest quality oils, vinegars, pastas, seasonings and spices available.
Al Dente (äl ˈdentā)
is an Italian term used to describe pasta cooked such that it is still firm when bitten, although in everyday practice al dente describes the proper degree of cooking just about anything. Broaden the definition even further and al dente can be loosely translated as “just right”. Our vision is to inspire a creative passion for cooking and eating delicious food. Knowing what’s in your food and where it comes from is just as important as knowing the proper way to prepare it. By providing you with the best possible tools and ingredients, fresh new ideas, and expert instruction and education, we will help you achieve al dente in your kitchen and beyond.
